Welcome to Batesville School District!

It is my honor to serve as the Interim Superintendent of Batesville School District. Our district has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence, meaningful relationships, and a commitment to preparing every student for success. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside our dedicated educators, staff, families, students, and community as we continue to build on that legacy.

As a lifelong educator with 37 years in education, including 26 years serving the Batesville School District, I have been fortunate to experience education from many perspectives. I began my career as an art educator and teaching science. Throughout my career, I have also served as a building administrator at every level—from kindergarten through twelfth grade. I served 20 years at Batesville High School, where I had the privilege of working with countless students and families throughout our community. These experiences have shaped my belief that every student deserves a supportive learning environment where they are challenged, encouraged, and inspired to reach their full potential.

At the district level, I served as Assistant Superintendent of Operations, supporting the daily work that allows our schools to provide exceptional educational opportunities for students. In February 2026, I was honored to be appointed by the Batesville Board of Education as Interim Superintendent.

As Interim Superintendent, I remain committed to ensuring that every student receives a high-quality education in a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. I believe that strong schools are built through collaboration, open communication, and partnerships among our educators, families, and community. Together, we will continue to support academic excellence while helping every student develop the knowledge, skills, and character needed for future success.

Thank you for your continued support of Batesville School District. It is a privilege to serve this outstanding community, and I look forward to working together as we continue to provide exceptional opportunities for every student.

My wife, Lori, and I are proud Batesville natives and graduates of Batesville High School. Lori is also a lifelong educator with the Batesville School District, and together we've been honored to spend our careers serving the community that means so much to us. One of our greatest joys is that all three of our children are also graduates of Batesville High School, continuing our family's deep connection to Batesville and our commitment to this community.

Onward,

David Campbell
